So You're coming to Key Largo in the Florida Keys for a fishing, diving or boating vacation.

What questions should you ask the friendly, local Key Largo boat rentals people about renting a boat in the Florida Keys?

Boat rental check list:

1. What kind of equipment will you need on your boat rental? What is provided as standard on rental boats? What safety equipment is provided?

Most boat rental places will supply or rent to you some of your favorite poles and gear down here. Some might even provide free bait and ice. Try to look up the full details at your boat rental's website, but remember that safety equipment is standard & supplies, according to your choice of activities with the boat, is also probably standard.

2. What kind of boating will you be doing..... fishing, diving, sightseeing, or snorkeling?
If it's fishing, there are 3 different kinds of fish here who live in the deep sea offshore fishing, inshore fish like cobia, sharks, grouper (bottom fish), or back country fishing, shallow water fishing for Bone fish, etc.

Different size boats are available as you get into deeper water.
Diving or snorkeling is usually done in 30 ft of water. Sometimes some diving equipment is provided & certainly more advanced equipment is available for rentals.

Sight seeing can be fun in any size boat provided you don't go into the shallows with a boat that has a large draft.

3. What is The right Keys boat rental for your needs?
Center console boats are the best value for local Key Largo rental boats - and the most widely used. They tend to be safer and easier to operate, because your sight lines are better when you are standing up, or sitting on a high seat.

These boats are easy to operate, great for fishing, diving and pleasure cruising - and they are fueled and ready to go when you are.

Some boat rental companies will deliver your rental boat to your vacation rental or resort by special arrangement - all ready to go with all your equipment so you can enjoy every day of your stay in the warm, tropical clear waters of Key Largo.

Snorkeling? A great activity for adults and children! The Florida Keys reef offers the finest snorkeling opportunities anywhere.

Key Largo & all the rest of the Florida Keys have North America's only living coral reef. Some of our boat rental companies offer free equipment usage for their customers. Key Largo rental boats will get you out there. The experience of a Key Largo reef dive or snorkel trip is waiting for you in our island paradise.

Diving: Diving & Snorkeling from your Key Largo boat rental? Your typical Snorkeling tour will probably go to one of the inner reefs. These areas are protected and shallow; average depth ranges from 5 to 15 feet. Snorkeling sites are shallow sometimes only 2 feet and ideal for beginners. Many fully-equipped boats, especially the Angler 23', have a large aft platform perfect for gearing up and water entry.

Key Largo is often called "the Diving Capital of the World". You can only wonder at the beauty & serenity of the reefs surrounding our wonderful Florida Keys. The water here is so clean and clear that you can generally see the bottom while still sitting on the dock!

No shortage of rental companies here, and a vast number of diving and fishing charters to make your Key Largo boat rental vacation a reality. Bay boat rentals are also available (that's boat rentals on the bay side). Some boat rental companies will even deliver your rental boat anywhere in the Florida Keys.

The boat rental Key Largo companies can supply you with charts, and some have GPS systems equipped with chart chips for a scuba diving adventure you'll never forget.

LOCAL FISHING in your boat. Fishing is just as popular as scuba diving, thanks to the many varieties of fish that inhabit the offshore waters of Key Largo & the Florida Keys. Marlin, dolphin fish, and sailfish are the most common varieties of fish caught. Fishing and snorkeling gear are available for rent.

Private charters for back country flats fishing are also very popular in the Keys. Many of the boats have a cooler, shady top, and dive ladders. In addition some of them may also have a live bait well, fish locker, and locking consoles. That's why Florida Keys boat rentals are great for fishing or diving enthusiasts.

The Best option of a Key Largo boat rental is that you can go out fishing, snorkeling or whatever, every day and whenever you want to go.

Warning!!!
Be careful to abide by statutes of the State of Florida Marine Sanctuary & Wildlife Management while in specially monitored areas. Please don't damage the coral reef as Sanctuary Officers guard these areas. Typically, they will give you a ticket if they find out that you have compromised the ecosystem out on the reef or on the sea grass beds. A ticket is not a fun event for your vacation.

So If you plan to rent a back-country fishing boat, definitely learn local mooring and anchoring laws, as coral reefs dot the waters and you shouldn't touch the coral with your boat or anchor.
